Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is the use of many different techniques. Stimulating the flow of oxygen rich blood to areas of pain and restricted motion.  A teacher once told me that “ All pain is due to Chi “energy” and blood stagnation”.  Once we begin to turn our awareness to this concept we are able to approach  pain in a more interactive way. Hydration, stretching, massage and other forms of healing are all tools to aid us in process.

Acutonics & Sound Healing

Acutonics is the use of specially calibrated tuning forks used to activate the energy in the Acupuncture meridians and and points. Sound travels four times faster through water than through air. Traveling deeper into the tissue releasing old tension, restrictions and injuries.  Hydration is essential for all healing but especially in order to receive all the benefits of sound healing.

Acupressure

Acupressure is a way to stimulate the Acupuncture meridians without the use of needles. We are able to facilitate effective treatments with the application of pressure or sound “ Acutonics”. This can be combined with other modalities or used on its own.  Acupressure can be used to treat a wide range of issues ranging from chronic pain to aiding in sleep and decreasing stress and anxiety.

Stretching & Movement

Movement is important for everyone. Our bodies were designed to move! In todays stagnant culture this is where chronic pain is most common. We need hydrated, oxygen rich blood in all of our tissues and muscle to support our joints and skeleton. We also need movement that breaks up the daily patterns we are use to. Busy or Active does not qualify as stimulating and healing movement.

Cupping & Gua Sha

The use of cupping has been used throughout history and in many areas of the world.  The intention is bringing the deeper stagnant body fluids to the surface using suction. This allows for fresh oxygenated blood to flow to the deeper tissues and promote healing.

Gua Sha is similar to cupping in it’s use to bring deeper stagnation to the surface.

Hot Stone

The application of hot stones in a session can be beneficial by stimulating vasodilation. This increases the oxygenated blood supply to an area. Which in turn aids in the decrease of chronic pain and tension. Hot stones can also be used as a full treatment or in combination.

Himalaya Salt Stones  naturally contain 84 minerals that when warmed and applied to the skin with massage deepens the release of the tissues and joints.
